Tasmanian Young Labor is the voice of young people within the ALP and we are constantly challenging the views of the senior party. At last year’s senior ALP state party conference, Young Labor got motions passed including support for same-sex marriage, abolishment of youth wages, a charter of rights for Tasmania, support for a republic, motions against the deregulation of universities and the publishing of league tables, greater support for public education and increased funding for foreign aid. We have a strong policy platform, a platform we are always building upon and want your contribution on.
Young Labor has many events happening through the year including meetings, quiz nights, cocktail nights, parliament tours, community service and election campaigning.
I urge all of you interested in progressive politics to join Young Labor.
